Inventure teamed up with O’Donnell/Snider to give Montalbano Lumber’s long-standing location a major upgrade while keeping its history and loyal customer base at the heart of the project.

The transformation turned a former warehouse into a functional space with retail, office, and storage areas, plus six new pre-engineered metal buildings.

The front facade got a facelift with natural materials that flow seamlessly into the retail and showroom interiors, creating a warm, inviting feel. A key part of the project was coordinating a 15-foot-deep detention pond to manage stormwater runoff, ensuring the site worked as efficiently as it looked.

Midway through construction, the FAA halted work due to the site’s proximity to Hobby Airport, requiring height adjustments to the structures. After weeks of back-and-forth coordination, approvals came through, keeping the project on track and on schedule.

By repurposing an existing space and tackling design and regulatory challenges head-on, Inventure helped create a refreshed, customer-friendly environment that honors Montalbano Lumber’s past while setting it up for the future.
