This 15-story women’s hospital featured four subterranean parking levels and expanded Texas Children’s Hospital to nearly five million sf. Having previously specialized in pediatric care, TCH desired a new model and platform that still reflected the overall campus style, but translated into a design for women’s services

Focusing on high-risk pregnancies, TCH requested non-institutional, comfortable patient rooms to help their patients relax in a safe, spa-like environment. Our team incorporated warm woods, upgraded details, and finishes, such as glass tile, quartz counters, and sconces to achieve this design request.

Our team incorporated warm woods, upgraded details, and finishes, such as glass tile, quartz counters, and sconces to achieve this design request. A timeless, sleek and elegant design theme was implemented to easily transition the space through future renovations and expansions to ensure the facility is always state-of-the-art.

“Pattern with purpose” was also a priority for TCH.

Patterns in the flooring and ceiling provided wayfinding for patients while reflecting to the overall campus design. Lighting elements in the space were designed as showpieces and considered the jewels of each public space.

The constellation ceiling in the common meeting area added a whimsical element to the space while the reception piece boldly directed patients to the help desk.

This project also featured an elliptical, two-story pedestrian bridge that connects the pavilion with the Clinical Care Center and the West Tower.
